About Us

The Cost Guy is a trading name of the Cost Engineering branch of Ashton Manufacturing Services Ltd.  AMS Ltd was set up in 2008 as a specialist Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain Management consultancy.  The growth of Cost Engineering as a discipline was recognised early on, and the financial crisis in the late 2000's caused a lot of demand in this emerging skill set.  

Since then we have established a strong reputation in delivering product specific Cost Models for a range of industries, mainly in Aerospace, Automotive and Renewable Energy sectors.  Some of our recent clients are listed below.

We are based in Kent in the UK, with easy access to the London airports and the Eurotunnel train service.  We have supported projects in Germany, France, Norway, Sweden and Finland over recent years.  This can be done physically, but increasingly we take advantage of our video conferencing and Web conference facilities, allowing us top support projects anywhere in the world.  We also have full 3D CAD and CAM simulation capability so we are able to work straight from the 3D model allowing much earlier engagement in the design cycle giving bigger benefits.

Our consultants are time served engineers qualified to degree level, and are chartered members of the IMechE and ACostE.
